This is the best BBQ dry rub recipe (in my opinion) that works great not only on ribs but with chicken and pork as well. Plus, it uses most of the common spices that you probably already have in your pantry.

We make large batches of seasoning blends in this house. That way we always have it on hand and ready to use when you’ve had a busy day and want to cook up something fast and tasty. This dry rub recipe is exactly that and its great on most types of meat.

I’m going to brag here because my husband makes thee best ribs on his Recteq smoker. They’re flavorful, mildly spicy and fall off the bone delicious. But trying to get his BBQ dry rub recipe was hard because, like me, he doesn’t write down exactly what he uses or how much.

So, with that being said, I really had to go behind him and write all of the measurements and ingredients down. I’m so glad that I did, and you will be too once you smother your chicken, pork or ribs in this sweet and mildly spicy BBQ dry rub for ribs.

THIS is the Recteq smoker that we own and love!

THESE are the containers that we store all of our dry seasoning blends, marinades and dressings in.

Perhaps one day I’ll show you the process of how he smokes his ribs but that is for another day, it’s complicated. For now, just enjoy this seasoning mix and start making some fabulously flavorful smoked or grilled meats.

RIB RUB

This is a medley of common seasonings that make for a wonderful dry rub on ribs, pork or chicken. Liberally place rib rub all over the meat and marinate for a few hours to lock in the flavors prior to smoking or grilling. We make a big batch of this and store in an airtight container for multiple uses.
